Helping Roma and Roma-origin youth thrive in the job Market

Project Summary

This project aims to empower youth workers by improving their skills in employability mentoring and digital literacy. Through training and resource development, we will equip them to effectively support Roma and Roma-origin youth in overcoming employment barriers. The project also focuses on expanding collaboration among stakeholders, strengthening policies, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of tools and strategies for social inclusion and employment support.

Project Objectives:

The project aims to achieve the following objectives:
1. Strengthening the Employability of Roma Youth:
– Develop their confidence and self-efficacy through workshops, empowering them to integrate into the workforce and overcome societal barriers.
2. Building Digital Competencies. Enhance the ability of youth workers to guide Roma youth in navigating the digital job market.
3. Promoting Active Citizenship and Civic Engagement: Encourage active participation in workshops and community events to foster a sense of initiative and responsibility among Roma youth. Inspire youth workers to advocate for Roma inclusion and mentor Roma youth effectively.
4. Supporting Social Inclusion: Address discrimination and create opportunities for Roma youth to connect with their peers and mentors through focus groups and training sessions.Celebrate and preserve Roma’s cultural identity while building pathways for their professional growth.
5. Ensuring Sustainability and Long-Term Impact: Develop a replicable and adaptable employability toolkit and resources, ensuring ongoing accessibility through translated materials and digital platforms. Establish partnerships and dissemination strategies to maintain the project’s impact beyond its duration.

The project includes a 7-day training for 15 youth workers, equipping them with mentoring, employability, and digital skills. A Comprehensive Employability Toolkit will provide best practices and digital mentoring strategies. The recommendations will integrate employability measures into city policies and action plans. Youth workers will lead local mentoring sessions and digital literacy training. Community engagement events and dissemination campaigns will ensure long-term impact and outreach.
